Autobiography

I, Lyudmila Vladimirovna Ekshembeeva, Khakaska, was born on 09/06/1951 in a family of employees in the village of Ust-Byur of the Khakass Autonomous Region of the Russian Federation. I have been working at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University since August 1976. In 1972, she graduated from the Abakan State Medical Institute with a degree in Russian language and literature; in the period from 1982 to 1986, she studied at the graduate school of the Kazakh State University named after S.M.Kirov; in the period from 1998 to 2000, she studied at the doctoral program of the Al–Farabi Kazakh National University. In 1987, after defending her PhD thesis "The evolution of the image of a woman in the Turkic-speaking heroic epic" (majoring in folklore studies on 10.01.09), she was appointed head of the Department of the Russian language of the Preparatory Faculty for Foreign Citizens, which she led for 12 years before entering doctoral studies in January 1998. After doctoral studies and successful defense of a doctoral dissertation (2000) on the topic "Language modules and language acquisition" (specialty 02/10/19 – theory of language), I work at the Faculty of Philology. From 2001 to 2008, she was the Chief Scientific Secretary of the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi. From 2014-15 to 2019-2020 academic years, as part of the incoming long-term academic mobility, she provided high-quality educational and methodological implementation of the Russian language training program (proficiency level C1) for students from US universities. In the 2019-20 academic year, she was a member of the working group of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the development of a National Qualifications Framework and the preparation of a Report on the self-certification of the country's higher and postgraduate education system. The problems of intensification of educational and scientific activities determine the sphere of scientific interests of Professor L.V. Ekshembeeva: cognitive linguistics and the development on its basis of the conceptual content of theories of assimilation and actualization of knowledge; cognitive modeling and mapping as scientific approaches to knowledge acquisition and generation of new knowledge.
